Ionic Analysis
Objective Teams will be given a maximum of 30 minutes to analyze an unknown solution containing one or more ions (Groups I-IV) ions
Purpose To strengthen knowledge of chemistry.
Participants Teams of two.
Materials Students will be provided with unknown solutions, a flow chart for ion identification, required chemicals for
analysis, equipment (glassware, etc...) and a formal report form.
Rules The teams must write the results of the analysis on the form and it must be handed to the supervisor.
  1. The team which submits the correct analysis in the shortest time will be the first place winner.
  2. Teams submitting the incorrect results will be eliminated.
