| Objective |
Teams will be given a maximum of 30 minutes
to analyze an unknown solution containing one or more ions (Groups
I-IV) ions |
| Purpose |
To strengthen knowledge of chemistry. |
| Participants |
Teams of two. |
| Materials |
Students will be provided with unknown
solutions, a flow chart for ion identification, required chemicals
for
analysis, equipment (glassware, etc...) and a formal report form. |
| Rules |
The teams must write the results of the
analysis on the form and it must be handed to the supervisor. |
| Judging |
- The team which submits the correct analysis in the shortest
time will be the first place winner.
- Teams submitting the incorrect results will be eliminated.
