That's The Last Straw
Objective To construct a freestanding tower out of plastic drinking straws.
Purpose To demonstrate problems of structures e.g. stress points.
Participants Any number of individuals or teams.
Materials Straws (not milkshake straws), scissors , dental floss, tennis ball.
Rules The tower must be constructed within one hour.
Procedure The tennis ball must be balanced at the pinnacle of the tower.
Judging The tallest structure that can support the tennis ball wins the competition.
