Physics and Astronomy

Objective To make a piece of sandpaper using the materials provided and to sand a piece of wood.
Purpose To demonstrate the effects of friction.
Participants Any number of individuals.
Materials Newspaper; thin piece of cardboard; white glue; dry sand; small block of wood.
Rules You have 30 minutes to make a piece of sandpaper with the materials provided
Procedure Sand down a rough board with the sandpaper you've made.
Judging You have one minute to sand a rough board. The piece that is judged the smoothest, wins.
