Just A Plane Elastic
Objective To construct a plane, powered by only an elastic band.
Purpose To investigate how airplanes fly
Participants Teams of up to four.
Materials Balsa wood, wire, glue, rubber band, scissors, paper clips, buttons, beads, tape, stick.
  1. Students may use any or all of the materials provided.
  2. Plane must not exceed 40 cm at its widest point.
  3. All planes will begin at the same point and will be allowed only one launch.
Judging The plane that travels the furthest and lands undamaged will be declared the winner.
