Pulley For You
Objective To balance a pre-set pulley system by calculating the correct balancing mass in the shortest time.
Participants Teams of up to six.
Materials The Judges will supply the pulley systems.

The students may touch the pulley system for 5 minutes.
The judges will then attach arbitrary masses.
The team has to figure out what extra mass(es) must be added to achieve equilibrium.

The points awarded are equal to the difference in grams between the team's value and the actual value. The team with the lowest score is the winner.
