Two Decks High
Objective To construct a free-standing structure.
Purpose To investigate mechanical structures.
Participants Teams of up to four.
Materials Two decks of playing cards (or straws), scissors.
  1. Each team may use up to 104 cards (or straws).
  2. Scissors may be used to cut and/or etch the cards.
  3. The maximum surface area on which to build is 1 meter square. The base can be no larger than 1 meter square.
  4. No tape, adhesive, or similar material may be used to bind the cards together
Judging The highest structure built within the 1/2 hour time limit is the winning structure.
