"The Western Physics and Astronomy Department provides an excellent student experience. It offers a diverse range of interesting courses in both theoretical and experimental physics. The friendly atmosphere in the department provides a strong network of professors, staff, graduate students and peers who are genuinely interested in the success of the students.

As an undergraduate student in Western Physics, my professors encouraged my interests and provided laboratory opportunities which further sparked my passion for research.  This led me to pursue my PhD in Medical Physics overseas at University College London (UK).  Currently, as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health (USA), I am developing imaging technologies necessary to bring MRI-guided interventions to clinical practice.  Studying physics at Western started me on the path to a career I love.

I believe that a degree in physics provides the essential skills of critical thinking and problem solving, necessary for any career. I am pleased to call myself a Western Physics alumna!"
