Course description: An introduction to key physical principles as applied to medical imaging and radiation therapy. Topics covered will include: imaging metrics, ionizing radiation and radiation safety, radioactivity, radiation therapy, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging.
No required textbook/material. Recommended reading material: Medical Imaging Physics, by WR Hendee, ER Ritenour Physics of Radiology, by AB Wolbarst The Essential Physics of Medical Imaging, by Bushberg et al.
