Sage Buchanan wins Best Poster Award at CAARI-SNEAP 2024 Conference

Sage Buchanan, an MSc candidate in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, won the Best Poster Award at the 27th International Conference on the Application of Accelerators in Research and Industry (CAARI) and the 55th Symposium of Northeastern Accelerator Personnel (SNEAP) CAARI-SNEAP 2024 conference in Ft. Worth, TX. The conference was attended by more than 300 attendees from over 12 different counties. Sage is co-supervised by Dr. Lyudmila Goncharova of Physics and Astronomy and Dr. Mark Biesinger of Chemistry.

The research for Sage's poster, titled "A Multimodal Approach Towards Advancing the Characterization and Analysis of Erbium", was largely carried out using the Tandetron Accelerator at Interface Science Western and XPS instrument at Surface Science Western.
